ATUC have also organised a "Searchlight Event" for Friday 20 April 2012 between the hours of 1pm and 8pm, so anyone can come along to the club from 5.30pm onwards if they so wish.

Brian Caroll

Brian Carroll, Chair of Aberdeen TUC said, "This party is to celebrate and promote Equality and Diversity in Aberdeen and to "Speak Up and Speak Out" against fascism and nazism and all that fascism and nazism stand for, in any guise it takes and appears in! Everyone who supports these values is very welcome to attend."

"Please support this event and the "Searchlight" event, if you possibly can and come along for a night of celebration, music, poetry and speakers throughout the night - and get merry!"

The event follows on from the successful opposition by ATUC, Affiliated Union Branches, Unions, Community and Pensioner Organisations and individuals, to the application by the National Front to have a march and rally in Aberdeen. That application was ultimately refused by Aberdeen City Council Licensing Committee.
