Hundreds of branch members working as part of the education team in Aberdeenshire council signed postcards to John Swinney, Scottish Government Education Secretary telling him that our children’s education is delivered by a whole team and calling on him to give all council workers the same pay rise as teachers.
On Tuesday 26th June, Mark Ferguson, the Chair of the Scottish Local Government Committee delivered individual messages from thousands of members across Scotland to John Swinney, as part of UNISON’s campaign for a fair pay rise for all local government workers in Scotland.
UNISON’s message – “We all deserve fair pay.”
UNISON and Unite will have further meetings this week with the Scottish Government and CoSLA, the Council Employers organisation. Update will be provided as soon as possible.
