UNISON calls for NO vote in Cornerstone pay ballot

Cornerstone Vote No posterA ballot paper has been posted to all Cornerstone UNISON members today asking for your view on Cornerstone’s pay offer. The ballot closes at 12pm on 31st October 2018.

Attached to the ballot is a newsletter explaining the offer and what UNISON’s position on it is.

For the avoidance of any doubt UNISON recommends that you vote NO – TO REJECT THE PAY OFFER.

This offer was made to us in line with the Cornerstone’s Boards instructions and was not open for negotiation. We feel that this offer does not take staff’s views in to account. Staff have been clear, both in staff surveys and in consultation with UNISON that pay is a major issue for them. In our view, this offer addresses none of our members’ concerns.

UNISON urges our members to remember that:-

  • This pay rise is below inflation, hitting those who do not receive the Scottish Living Wage hard
  • The extra work taken on by LCAST members is not reflected in this offer
  • There is always money for a pay rise for Senior Management
  • Your sick pay is one of the worst across unionised employers in the Charity Sector

Please complete your ballot paper and return it to us in the freepost envelope asap – we need to hear your views loud and clear, so let’s send a clear message to Cornerstone on pay!

If you are not currently a UNISON member, you will be given an opportunity to vote in this consultative ballot if you join before the closing date.
