The Branch has issued ballot papers to all Cornerstone members to seek their views on a 1% pay offer, backdated to 1st April 2013. This does not apply to those on preserved/conserved salaries, who will not see an increase. Those on a living wage supplement are also excluded from this rise.
Inez Teece, Branch Secretary said, “UNISON has been negotiating with the employer about the annual pay increase and seeking a pay rise in line with inflation.
“However, Cornerstone have indicated a number of financial pressures and they have told us that any pay rise would have to be within the region of other pay settlements already agreed by other employers.
“As such Cornerstone are offering a 1% increase on pay, backdated to 1st April 2013. Unfortunately those on preserved/conserved salaries will not see this increase and those on a living wage supplement will also see no increase.”
Inez added that UNISON believes that this is the best that can be achieved through negotiation in the current financial climate and warned members that a rejection will need to be backed up by action to try to increase this offer.
Members are being asked to complete their Ballot paper and return it by Friday 22nd November 2013.
