Join us on Wednesday and ask the candidates for UNISON General Secretary your questions!

The UNISON General Secretary elections opened on 28th October and close at 5pm on 27th November 2020.

If you are a UNISON member please join us at a Hustings on 4th November from 4.30 to 5.30pm and ask the four candidates your questions.

You should have received the link by email but if you didn’t and are a UNISON member who wants to join us please email grampianresourcecentre@unison.co.uk and they will send you the link.

Why is this important?

UNISON’s General Secretary is the highest elected position in the union. What that person does can affect what UNISON says, how we support you, and how we campaign for your pay, conditions, and rights at work and beyond. For 20 years Dave Prentis has served the union, but now he is retiring and someone new will be elected.

There are four candidates, in alphabetical order – Paul Holmes, Christina McAnea, Roger McKenzie, and Hugo Pierre.

Come to the special “hustings” for members in UNISON branches in North-East Scotland. This is your chance to hear directly from each of the candidates and decide if they’ve done enough to get your vote. The candidates will try to persuade you to vote for them, and you can put your difficult questions to them.

Then make sure you vote when the ballot paper comes through your letterbox!
