Stand up to Racism (SUTR) is organising buses to Elgin on Saturday 17th June to support local anti-racist and trade union activists in Elgin in opposing Hitler wannabe’ Alek Yerbury and the fascist Highland Division, a group whose members include Holocaust deniers.
This fascist group will try to take their poisonous ideas to Elgin. This is the Scottish leg of Yerbury’s nazi-onal tour of hateful rallies hoping to build up his image as the new ‘führer’ of the British far-right.
We are encouraging members who can to get to Elgin to oppose the far right rhetoric of Alek Yerbury and his followers and to say #RefugeesWelcomeHere
Click here to sign up for a place on a bus. *Pick-up point details will be emailed to those who register* Your booking on the bus includes return.
After the far-right in Scotland have spent months trying to intimidate asylum seekers in Erskine, failing due to consistent anti-fascist opposition in the area, now Yerbury – who split from the Patriotic Alternative fascist group responsible for the Erskine protests – and their supporters are choosing to target Elgin because asylum seekers are being housed there. And they are doing it within days of World Refugee Day on Tuesday 20th June.
We need to show that the North East of Scotland welcomes refugees and asylum seekers and stands against the right wing fascists and their hate fuelled rhetoric. Please go along to Elgin.
Free bus seats available for refugees – to book please email sutrscot@gmail.com
