Cornerstone update – UNISON to meet members as management move to impose rejected pay offer

Dear Member

UNISON is aware of the Chief Executive’s communication in regards to Cornerstone’s intention to impose an unnegotiated pay award for 2018/19.

You will recall our previous communications regarding the possibility of lodging claims on behalf of members for Inducement to avoid Collective Bargaining, and as such we are now taking formal legal advice on the exact content of the statement.

UNISON would again point out that this is nothing more than a further attempt by Cornerstone to impose the pay offer that was rejected by 92% of members last November. It is UNISON’s view that talks remain open at ACAS and we do not understand why Cornerstone has unilaterally walked away from the process.

UNISON will shortly be holding members meetings across the country to consult with you directly on these matters and as such we would urge you to look out for the meeting dates and to make every effort to attend.

If there is not a meeting in your area, please get in contact with one of your local stewards who will arrange one.

Look out for further updates as the situation progresses.
