Green UNISON News

Green UNISON week 15-22 September 2023 – please send us your ideas

Aberdeenshire Branch has been active in driving a Green agenda within the union and amongst employers and wider organisations such as Aberdeen Trades Union Council.

This September, UNISON will once again be supporting and encouraging our members to mark Green UNISON Week, from Friday 15th to Friday 22nd of September inclusive and using it to celebrate, discuss and share how the union is working to green public services.

The branch will be organising a week of activities to call for urgent action to tackle climate change. If you have any ideas for this week, please contact Steve Gray, Green Network Champion via the UNISON Resource Centre

Aberdeenshire UNISON submitted an emergency motion to Aberdeen Trades Union Council (ATUC) for debate at the Scottish TUC Congress in Dundee in April. Our retired members’ officer, Morag Lawrence moved the motion on behalf of ATUC.

Unfortunately, a similar emergency motion to UNISON’s National Delegate Conference was not admitted to the agenda.
