Please join our Black Members’ event event to mark UN Anti-racism Day

22 March is United Nations Anti-Racism Day, and to mark this event UNISON Aberdeenshire’s Black members self organised group will be hosting an online event on Friday 18 March 6-7pm entitled ‘The fight against racial injustice’.

The event will promote our fight for race equality, and will celebrate our history of struggle.

Speakers are, Dr Talat Ahmed, Chair of Scotland ‘Stand Up to Racism’ and a member of the Scottish TUC Black Workers Committee and our own Benson Mugyenyi, Chair, UNISON Aberdeenshire Black Members Self-Organised Group.

Please do come along and stand up against racism and racial injustice.

March for Equality
We are also encouraging our members to attend the March for Race Equality, organised by Stand up to Racism which will be held in  Glasgow on Saturday 19th March.

Aberdeen Trades Council has organised a coach to Glasgow for the UN Anti-Racism Day demonstration.  To book a ticket in the coach, just email Aberdeen ‘Stand Up to Racism’ on absut79@gmail.com and copy in Aberdeen TUC – secretary@atuc.org.uk.  

The coach will pick up at 7am Marischal College and 7.30am Kingswell Park & Ride.  It will leave Glasgow to return at 4pm.
