UNISON gives this area of work a very high priority. We believe that health and safety in the workplace is an issue for everyone. Every year, thousands of people suffer accidents and ill-health at work – most of which could be avoided.
To be effective in our fight for safe working conditions we need people in every workplace to act as advisors and watchdogs on health and safety issues. You’ll get full training and support from UNISON as well as paid time off from your employer to carry out your union role.
Aberdeenshire UNISON’s Health and Safety Officer post is currently vacant.
If you are interested in being more involved, or have any health and safety concerns or need any advice contact your Health and Safety Officer on 01224 620624 .
